Program Overview

AFLH’s Day Treatment Program provides structured, clinically supervised therapeutic programming during designated daytime hours.


Day Treatment is designed for individuals who require intensive behavioral health services but do not require inpatient hospitalization or 24-hour residential care.


Services are delivered through AFLH’s certified behavioral health agency in accordance with Ohio Department of Behavioral Health regulations and Ohio Administrative Code requirements.

Program Structure

Day Treatment operates on a defined daily schedule and includes structured therapeutic activities led by qualified behavioral health staff.


Program components may include:

 

  • Clinical group therapy

  • Skill development sessions

  • Behavioral intervention groups

  • Psychoeducational programming

  • Treatment plan goal review

  • Individual clinical check-ins (as appropriate)
     

Each participant has an individualized treatment plan outlining service frequency, duration, and therapeutic focus.

Attendance & Documentation

Day Treatment services include:

 

  • Daily attendance tracking

  • Time-in and time-out documentation

  • Service-specific documentation for each session

  • Progress notes aligned with treatment plan goals

  • Periodic treatment plan review
     

Attendance and participation are monitored in accordance with regulatory documentation standards.
Participation frequency and duration are based on assessed need and service authorization requirements.

Clinical Oversight

Day Treatment services are supervised and/or delivered by appropriately credentialed behavioral health professionals operating within scope of licensure.

Clinical oversight includes:

 

  • Treatment plan development and approval

  • Ongoing progress monitoring

  • Review of service documentation

  • Coordination with outpatient or residential services when applicable
     

All services are delivered according to documented medical necessity.

Who May Benefit From Day Treatment

Day Treatment may be appropriate for individuals who:
 

  • Require more structured support than traditional outpatient services

  • Benefit from daily therapeutic programming

  • Require skill-building and behavioral intervention support

  • Need coordinated monitoring of treatment plan goals
     

Eligibility is determined through formal clinical assessment and referral review.

Service Setting

Day Treatment services are delivered in a structured, supervised setting designed for therapeutic programming.
The program is not a hospital-based inpatient service and does not provide 24-hour supervision unless paired with a residential placement under separate licensing

Coordination of Care

When applicable, Day Treatment staff coordinate with:
 

  • Outpatient clinicians

  • Residential program staff

  • Case managers

  • Prescribing providers

  • Managed care entities
     

Coordination is conducted within confidentiality and consent guidelines.

Service Eligibility & Authorization

Enrollment in Day Treatment is based on:

 

  • Clinical assessment

  • Documented medical necessity

  • Service authorization (when required)

  • Determination of appropriate level of care
     

Participation and duration of services are reviewed periodically in accordance with regulatory standards.
