Program Overview

AFLH provides Ohio-licensed residential treatment services for adolescents who require structured supervision and therapeutic support in a residential setting.


The Adolescent Residential Treatment Program integrates supervised living with behavioral health services delivered according to individualized treatment planning and regulatory standards established by the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health.


This program is intended for adolescents who benefit from structured residential placement and coordinated behavioral health services.


This program is not an inpatient psychiatric hospital.

Who This Program Serves

The Adolescent Residential Treatment Program may be appropriate for adolescents who:
 

  • Require structured supervision in a residential setting

  • Have behavioral health treatment needs requiring coordinated care

  • Benefit from daily routine and monitored support

  • Require collaboration between residential staff and licensed clinicians

  • Are transitioning from hospital, detention, or community-based services
     

Eligibility and placement are determined through formal assessment and referral review.

Services Provided

Services within the residential setting may include:

 

  • Supervised residential placement

  • Individualized treatment planning​

  • Coordination with licensed clinicians

  • Medication monitoring and documentation

  • Crisis response procedures consistent with regulatory standards

  • Behavioral support interventions

  • Skill development programming

  • Family coordination and communication

  • Educational collaboration when applicable

  • Documentation and progress monitoring
     

All services are delivered in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code requirements and individualized care plans.

Clinical Services Integration

Adolescents in residential treatment may receive behavioral health services through AFLH’s certified behavioral health agency or external licensed providers, as determined through assessment.


Clinical services may include:

 

  • Individual therapy

  • Group therapy

  • Psychiatric services

  • Day treatment programming

  • Case management
     

Clinical service eligibility is determined separately through formal assessment.

Residential Environment & Oversight

AFLH residential homes operate under Ohio licensing standards and regulatory oversight.


Each residential setting includes:

  • Structured daily programming

  • Staff supervision based on assessed need

  • Documentation standards consistent with regulatory requirements

  • Safety protocols and crisis response procedures

  • Coordination with referring agencies and treatment providers
     

Residential treatment services are delivered within established regulatory scope and do not represent hospital-level care.

Admissions & Referrals

Referrals may be submitted by:
 

  • County agencies

  • Courts

  • Behavioral health providers

  • Hospitals

  • Managed care organizations
     

All referrals are reviewed to determine eligibility, appropriateness of placement, and service scope.
